My Memory with AC

B Sep 08, 2008

I first saw Aaron at the Dolphin Park Tournament when I was about 16, it was the first time I've seen an asian man dunk. It was simply awesome. A few years later when I've graduated and played open gym every Fridays at Burnett/Thompson I saw him there, and as always an icon, an inspiration and a ball of talent. Every eye was on him whenever he played. Although I never got the chance to talk to him then he was always someone to watch. Couple years after that when we moved to Cambie to play basketball, I finally had the chance to talk to him and play with him as well. Even though my friends and I were the only girls playing, he'd let us join and have fun with us. He was always nice and accepting. And not many guys are like that, especially when you're as good as "AC." It was kind of ironic to notice that the last time I saw AC was at the Dolphin Park Tournament as well. I didn't know too much of his music career or anything personal. I think it was only the Friday night open gym that I saw but it was still something. I can never forget a person like him. May his soul rest in peace and watch over us as we live to our fullest as he did and try to *create our own destinies* ... goodbye AC
