My Memory

Miriam Perales Aug 21, 2008

As a child I was always fascinated by the way she would put on her red lipstick to go to work and also by the many pairs of high heels that she had in her closet. I remember her letting me play grownup and letting me wear her high heels.

I also remember the time she took us all to visit her friend Naydi who lived in the Soundview area of the Bronx to see and play with his Lionel trains in the basement of the house. It was a real treat for us.

Although, as an adult I didn't get to visit with her much, I did call her occasionally to see how she was doing.

I will always treasure all the moments I was fortunate to share with Aida, her Mom and the rest of the family.

Memories Live Forever

It’s hard to say good-bye to someone that you love,

although you know they’re safe

with Jesus up above.

It doesn’t make a difference if they’re in their later years.

It only means more memories to carry through the tears.

Don’t let yourselves forget that we have numbered days.

For reasons we do not know,

God wanted it this way.

Tears wash away the pain, but it can’t remove the love.

The memories live forever safe

in God’s hands above.

So, today we give thanks for the lives we chance to share.

No matter if their short or long,

God always will be there.
