Oh Alyssa. We all wish things had worked out different for you and that you were still here. The only thing we can do is remember you and hope that you're still listening.

About

We wish we could have helped!

The woman who was killed early Sunday morning when she was struck by a Union Pacific freight train in Riverside has been identified as Alyssa Rayne McCroskey.

McCroskey, 16, was a Riverside resident.

Railroad officials investigating the accident were reviewing a video taken from train's engine compartment to determine why McCroskey was on the tracks, said Zoe Richmond, a spokeswoman for Union Pacific.

Memories

forever young

margaret galfayan Jan 12, 2012

I still remember meeting aly when she was pre years old. She had these bouncy curls and the cutest smile ever. She lived next door to me with her nini and mom. We spent every summer day swimming. She would always come knock on our door early in the morning and would stay for dinner. My family and I enjoyed her presence so much. She always made us smile and was such a bright child. She was like a little sister to me and I watched her grow during the early years of her life. We lost touch when I moved in 2003 but I did get a chance to speak with her before her death. Aly will always be that little girl that would say hi to me Through the screen of her bedroom window and spend all day hanging out. Wish those days didn"t seem so far away now. Aly you brought joy into so many lives and I am so glad to have had an angel with me for such a short time but I know you are in a better place. May you rest in peace and live in our memories forever.

My Sweet Angel Aly

NINI Nov 14, 2011

It's been almost three and a half years since that night that you last hugged me and said "I love you , Nini"...I never had even the slightest hint that once you walked out that door and drove away with your Mom and brother, that I'd never see you again..Oh Aly...my sweet precious Angel Aly...I miss you so much more than I ever thought it possible to miss anyone. My heart still hurts and tears fill my eyes but I go on...and do everything in my power to keep your memory alive and to see that your goal to make a difference in the lives of others is realized in your honor. Two scholarships have been established in your name....one at Riverside City College and the other thru CAPED. Because of your dream sweetheart, each year, others are receiving funds to help with their educational expences. You've always made a difference in the lives of others Darlin'...you certainly did in mine! Smile. But now, even in death, your legacy of helping others continues and it will forever...thru those endowed scholarships! I love you sweet pea...My adorable Angel Aly with that cute little dimple on your cheek. No one could possibly love or miss you more. Until we meet again...I'm sending Love, Hugs and Kisses your way and know that you still touch me with soft breezes, ocean waves, and butterfly kisses! You are forever 16 and FOREVER in my heart!
