Andy Irons started surfing at Kauai, the most northern island of Hawaii, a spot famous for its ruthless reefs. During his career he won 3 world titles and countless other events, making him a true surf legend. After withdrawal from a WT event citing ill health, Irons died in his Dallas hotel room during a stopover on his way home. In response of Iron’s death a massive memorial paddle-out was held in Puerto Rico. His ashes were scattered in the presence of thousands of friends, family and admirers during a memorial service outside Hanalei Bay.
We will never forget him, please share your memories.
