Antonio Puerta Tribute

Antonio Jose Puerta Perez played for the Sevilla FC in La Liga.  Antonio was a natural left-footer, and impressive player on the left side of midfield.  He was a member of the club for 3 seasons, and had spent 14 years with the Andalusian club that he joined as a young boy.He died a premature death three days after suffering a series of heart attacks during a league came on 25 August 2007.  He had a diagnosed heart condition.

Left footed Puerta played on the left side of midfield, although he did occasionally fill in at left back. His impressive performances earned him international recognition and reported interest from Arsenal, Manchester United and Real Madrid.

Puerta had been capped once by the Spain national football team. He was also capped for Spain U-21
