Bart Van Lier Tribute

Bart was a very bright, intellectual young man with an IQ of 160 which is abnormally high!

Although he dropped out of school at 18, he worked himself higher up through education, night classes, he studied to become an offset printer and later changed his direction towards informatics, something he was brilliant in! If there was one person you could trust your computer to when it was broke or had problems, it was Bart. He worked himself up through selfstudy and became a Microsoft-System Engineer, he could fix bugges, problems, crashes etc. with his eyes closed, this amazed me many times. He liked to read Stephen King novels and comic books and he loved animals. Although he had severe asthma and back problems, he still went out and bought Sjiva, our female boxer dog, for me one day because I wouldn't be all alone at the appartment when he was working. At times, Bart could be stubborn, but it lasted for about five minutes and things were good again, he couldn't hold grudges and trusted people way too quick, some people took advantage of that and that made him hurt alot. He didn't like to be alone at all and had a very social, outgoing personality although he was a homebody, in the years we have been together we only went out maybe two or three times, we had enough with each other and the dogs, and we always made the interior of the appartment very cosy and warm, with candles and soft lights etc., it was so nice just to be with him and spent time together.

I know that there are few who match up to his skills and I know I personally will never find anyone like Bart ever again.

He loved his younger brother Peter very much and he was always fair in judgement towards other friends or acquantancies.
