Loving & Remembering Bill

Sandy has asked that if anyone feel they would like to make a donation in Bill's memory, please consider either www.allfie.org.uk  (a charity dedicated to promoting the inclusion of children with special needs in mainstream education), or www.kids.org.uk (a charity working in partnership with parent and carers to enable disabled children and young people to develop their skills and abilities and to fulfil their potential, hopes and aspirations).

I have been asked to inform you all that the Deighton shutlers badminton club have ralied together an donated £110 to KIDS. Please see the short passage from all at the club:

"Several years ago, after an indulgent Xmas 2006, Bill came up with
the idea of an after-work football group to assist him to lose weight.
Due to a collective lack of talent and the fact that this was far too
hard, the Deighton Players swiftly transmogrified into a more leisurely
Badminton Group, led by Badminton Bill. This group has been fluid, with
a varying but always talented membership and leadership.
Bill always insisted that any kind of smart or co-ordinated sportswear
was banned, as was any sporting ability, and that the group was open to
all comers. He led the way by example, often in his Neil Young or Che
Guevara T-shirts, leaping around the court with abandon, going for every
shuttlecock, no matter how unlikely the chance of his racquet coming
into contact with it.
We all miss you Bill, it was great. From the Deighton Shuttlers, past
and present."
