Q. What did CARLTON FIGG dream of doing with his/her life?
Q. If CARLTON FIGG could have any job, what do you think he/she could have done?
Q. What do you think would have been a good/alternative job for CARLTON FIGG?
A. Dad would have made a number one lawyer!!! There was nothing that he did not scutinise and nothing that he would accept blindly. We always laughed and said that when the whole world said something was white he would stand up and say it was black, but in hind sight he was always right. It's a little freaky but he was ALWAYS right no matter how wrong he seemed at the time. He read human beings like a book.
He would also make a great Cardiologist. He knew everything everything there was to know about the human heart. Ironically, he died of heart disease but he knew that he was dying!

Q. Who was CARLTON FIGG's childhood best friend?
A. He had friends - just ‘friends’. He told me one day, “you can't have 'friends', 'good friends' and 'best friends', you can have friends, acquaintances, colleagues, and relatives. There is a distinct difference.
Relatives he put into two categories; ‘relatives’ and ‘distant relatives’. ‘Distant relatives’ are the ones you ensure you keep at a distance, he laughed.
So, the answer to the question is ‘No’, he never had a 'best friend' because he never differentiated amongst friends – because God gave us the brains to choose them, he said.
About 'friends' and 'honesty' he added, " speak the truth always. Now matter how bittter no matter how sweet, no matter who you are speaking to, or about. Because if the person you are speaking to (or about) is your friend he (or she) won't mind - and if he (or she) is not (your friend) if won't matter!"

A. I don't remember Carl as 'an eater'. I remember him being very fussy about food. Wouldn't eat this, would only eat something if was from so-and-so's restaurant. Wouldn't eat unless it was served to him. Then he would say 'It's too much.' Claimed that he 'gets tired eating;. You'd wonder how he existed.
And then one day ... the cat was out of the bag! Adrian and myself saw him eating chole bature in the verandah near the Lalbagh crossing. (Opposite the chemist, I can't get the name. Duggal's is it?) Carl couldn't escape so he invited us to join him. He said it was the best chole bature in Lucknow. Unfortunately the chole had finished, but we had 'sooji halwa'. And that was the best 'sooji halwa' we had ever had. It became one of our favourite haunts. The only snag - you had to catch the guy in time. Chole bature was at lunch time, but the sooji halwa came around 3.00. Many a time we went at 3.30 and he was all sold out.
