24th teen killed in London

Police have named the teenager stabbed to death in Walthamstow early on Sunday morning.

The 18-year-old male was named as Charles Junior Hendricks. He was discovered by police officers after they saw a group of two or three males running away from a grassy area near a bus garage.

Mr Hendricks was rushed to hospital but pronounced dead shortly afterwards. A post-mortem carried out this morning established the cause of death as stab wounds to the chest.

Acting Detective Chief Inspector John Sandlin has opened an incident room at Barking and is appealing for witnesses to solve the murder.

"The incident happened close to a well lit bus garage," he said.

"Did you see several males in the grass area near to the bus garage and close to Selborne Walk Shopping Centre? Did you see anyone run away from the scene?"

Two males arrested near the scene have been bailed to return to police stations in east London next month.
