I grew up in Crandon and live in Rhinelander now. I knew one of the kids but I know most of the parents, and I want them all to know that they are all in my thoughts and in my heart. I am a friend grieving with and for you. Things like this don't happen to us. May GOD BE WITH EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU DURING THIS TIME OF PAIN AND SORROW AND ALWAYS. Just because your out of sight, you're not out of mind.

I am a former student of Crandon High School. Never, ever could I imagine that something so tragic could happen in this tiny, close knit community. I currently live in Chicago, IL and would expect something of this magnitude to happen in a city such as Chicago, but not in Crandon. It has always been a safe, carefree little town. My heart goes out to all of the victims and their families. I am so sorry for your loss!!!! My thoughts and prayers are with ALL of you!

I didn't know any of the people killed, but I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I am an Upward Bound Counselor for northern Wisconsin. I know many of you who were friends with these people. My heart goes out to the victims, their families, and friends. Someday we will all meet again in heaven...

I am so very sorry for your loss. Those of us from near and far shed tears for you today. I have 2 little boys myself and cannot imagine hearing news of this for my own. May God be with you.

If the family of the shooter is reading this, may God also be with you. I am sure you will reap more than you asked for at fault of the disturbed young man that killed innocent children. Stay strong. You have suffered a loss too and people should not forget that.

I grew up in Crandon. My daughter went to school until she was in fourth grade in Crandon and is a Senior this year. Although we do not live there any longer, we are still very much attached to this community and are in a state of mourning as well. Our thoughts go out to all members of the community, especially the families of those whose lives were cut short so senselessly.
