In 1989 I meet Ms. Charisse for the first time. I worked for Target Stores (Music, Movies, and Book Division) and her movies had done well in our stores. Target arranged for her to hand out the awards to our merchandisers that year. As I look back on the 18 years I worked for Target and the many movie, music and written word artists I had the pleasure of meeting, she was the absolute most gracious and kind person I have ever met. That award ceremony was pretty special to me personally, as it was Ms. Charisse who awarded me "Merchandiser of the Year", for our division. I will always charish the pictures that were taken of she and I together, and the kind conversations we shared.
