Den called me this morning around 10:30.

He said he saw I called last night but didn't want to talk to anyone.
He was very quiet, so soft spoken that I had to a couple times say, Den you there.
Most of the time when you talk on the phone with him, he's quiet. I usually have to keep the converstion going.
This may sound silly, but if I know I'll be talking on the phone with him, I jot things down to talk about cause it can be overwhelming sometimes and I don't want there to be stretches of silence.

Anyways, he told me he was okay, that he slept okay. He said he put the vacuum together and vacuumed the floors. (Not sure if that was last night or this morning)
He just absolutely amazes me though!

He told me his boss Bill Doherty, called him this morning. He said him and his 2 sons, Tom and Dave might come by Thurs after work. He will call 1st.
I'd like you to be here and meet them if you want. I said absolutely Den, I'd like that.
So guys, I do look forward to meeting ya's. I feel like I already know you all. Den talks so much about ya's. I think it will lift his spirits to see you too!

I arrived at his house about 12:45. Barb and Dick were there already and April was on her way. They were all watching Kelly's Heroes.
I gave Den his kiss on his forehead and he smiled at me.

I asked my usual questions. When I asked Den have you eaten anything yet, he said no, will you make me scrambled eggs and english muffins?
I said sure.
Now I'm in the kitchen saying to myself, omg what if he doesn't like them cause a couple days ago he said no to both Nancy and I when we offered. He wanted April to make them "cause she knows how I like them"...Lol

So I walk in the living room with his food saying, you know Den, I was talking to myself and having panic attacks out there. lol
Barb and Dick laugh and Den says why?
I said, Cause you"ve said you only like how April makes them...he laughs and says oh I'm sure they're okay.
I sit next to him and he's slowly eating away. I glance at his dish and then at him and say "Den, you pretending you like them?" He laughs again and says no.
It's so nice to see that. I love his smile! He needs to laugh.
BTW, he did eat all of it. lol

We talked about a lot of different things but he looked really tired as time went on and was fidgety cause his leg is really bothering him and I'm sure much more than that. He couldn't seem to get comfortable, kept shifting positions.
I asked him if he'd like to stretch out, lay down. He said no, I'm most comfortable upstairs (in his own bed).

I said Den, go ahead upstairs and rest. Remember we talked about this the other day, that even though people are here, you don't need to "entertain" us.
He said yeah I think I will.
I said, besides, Barb's gonna entertain us, come on Barb, get up and dance lol
that got Den and everyone else giggling.

I said Den, if we leave, I'll see you tomorrow. Dick said his good byes and Barb, April and I talked for another 45 mins or so.
Barb and I left around 4ish. Den didn't come back down. April was gonna stay with him.
I'll be heading back around noon tomorrow
