My MemoryDIRT BIKES&TROUT STREAMS

john Jul 25, 2009

We rode dirt bikes & fished in the Catskill mtn. streams, and relaxed in the beauty of our existance. Gods presence was felt just by being there......and then came the joy of music and voice of John Denver. Poems prayers and promises Filled up our senses. It was a wonderful time to be alive, and to absorb life.....and have the gentle beautiful, and fun music of John Denver surrounding us at the camp fire. Beautiful memories. Thank you John Denver.

pass the pipe around

I first met John just before the album "Poems, Prayers and Promises" came out....a bunch of us went to a party with John and we passed the pipe around, it was so much fun getting to meet him and when the album came out I was first in line to get it...I can remember when I asked about it they said "John Denver who???" it didn't take long though and everyone knew who. This was back in the early 1970 or 71 sometime.
I followed his life and again in the late 80's I saw him again at a Houston concert, I took my 15 year old son to meet him and we got to go backstage to meet him....I loved that man and he made this world a better place, he is greatly missed...

My Memory 1983

Ell Belle Apr 05, 2009

I've never told a soul JD and I never will. I will always remember you and hold you in my heart. Tears still come when I think of you and the loss of a cherished "secret" friend will forever rip me in two, but memories, especially of 1983 will give you life in my heart.

IT WAS A TRAGIC DAY, WHEN WE LOST YOU! YOU WERE THE SUN, MOON, & THE STARS, ALL WRAPPED-UP TOGETHER! I MOVED TO DENVER COLORADO IN 1987, IN HOPES OF SOMEDAY MEETING YOU IN PERSON, BUT NEVER GOT THAT CHANCE. I WILL NEVER FORGET YOUR BEAUTIFUL MUSIC, & YOUR BEAUTIFUL VOICE! I WAS ONE OF YOUR #1. FANS. R.I.P. JOHN! SOAR LIKE AN EAGLE! LOVE, JODY PALMER.
