About
Devon S. Norinco
My dearest Devon was born on April 18, 1998, when I was only 17. From the day he was born, Devon was a sweet, kind and shy soul. He loved music, theatre, art and his family, especially his brother and sister, of whom he was fiercely protective of. With these and the basics, he was at ease.
However, my son was taken that same day he was born 11 years later. He had been in a car accident the month before, having been going down a steep hill at my brother's house with a skateboard along with his sister. The doctor would say that it was the goriest case he'd ever seen of a kid surviving getting hit. But he also said that Devon had gotten these injuries because he instinctively rolled over his sister to avoid getting her hurt. He would admit to this later on as well.
At 5 AM, April 15, Devon went into four grand mal seizures, one after another. It was very frightening, and we sent him off with an ambulance. As the days went on, he struggled to stay alive as his brain swelled from the trauma of last month and the seizures that had been wracking him all morning. Soon enough, he became brain dead and died April 18, 2009 at 9:03 PM.
My boy was very special and is missed by his mother Lucy and father Mikael; sister Charlotte and little brother Jude. He was a great son, grandson, brother, nephew and everything. Shine On, baby.

Naming Jude
Lucy Apr 29, 2009
"He looks like a Jude. Like The Beatles.", he said after looking at his brother for a few seconds.
"What about a middle name?", I asked him. He thought some more, this time a little longer.
"Barrett, because Jude Syd sounds weird." I sighed at his decision. "Are you sure you want to name him that? Syd Barrett was crazy."
"Crazy people are pretty cool, Mom.", he said, like it was a fact of life. Now that I think about it, Devon was right. Crazy people are just fine when angels like them.
