Devon Slade Norinco Tribute

With my second son, our family had a deal. If the baby was a girl, Charlotte would name the baby. If the baby was a boy, Devon would name him. Since we had a boy, Devon chose a name when he came to the hospital.

"He looks like a Jude. Like The Beatles.", he said after looking at his brother for a few seconds.

"What about a middle name?", I asked him. He thought some more, this time a little longer.

"Barrett, because Jude Syd sounds weird." I sighed at his decision. "Are you sure you want to name him that? Syd Barrett was crazy."

"Crazy people are pretty cool, Mom.", he said, like it was a fact of life. Now that I think about it, Devon was right. Crazy people are just fine when angels like them.
