Memories

A priceless heart- gift

Dianne Cogar Aug 21, 2011

Don's role in the Andy Griffith show was an extraordinary one. One that not other man could have done with such passion. Without his tenderhearted persona, this half hour sitcom would not have left it's mark on American television and the many people who bonded with each and every character. Growing up, I remember watching as Opi changed, little by little , right along with me and the times. It was so obvious that his character not only mimicked the father figure in his Mayberry life, but Opi also valued the sweet innocence of his friend, Barney. I think we all learned so much from this family oriented show. And I believe , thank's to Barney, many of us have carried on his silliness and loving heart. He did his family, and his viewers, so very proud!

My tribute to Don Knotts

Irving E. Rice Jul 29, 2011

I was honored to write the tribute to Don in his memory. Beyond being an actor was a man who had a heart and feelings. I was in tears as I was writing it. He has a caring loving family in Morgantown that also touched me in a special way. I will always keep Don and his family in my thoughts and prayers. I know if God had fingerprints they could be found on his heart. The thing they can't burry. His friends and family in Morgantown WVa.holds it dearly !! That's where we'll find his love. His real fame and fortune !!

My memory

My all time favorite episode of The Andy Griffith Show is "Opie's Ill-Gotten Gain" The one where Andy and Barney are at the courthouse and Barney brags about knowing every word to the Preamble to the Constitution and has to be fed every word hahhah His hair is all crazy from running his hands through it and at the end he says "I got it.....you learn somethin' ya learn it" awesome classic
