My Memory

Kym Gellert Mar 10, 2009

I was always close to my Mum even in the worst of times I stuck by her. Yes there were times when I wanted to say to hell with you but I just couldn't, she brought me into this world and it was my obligation to try my hardest with her. I have to admit, it wasn't all bad, there were lots of good memories too. Like when she saved up enough money so that I could go and play ten pin bowling in Melbourne representing my state. When my sons father deserted me, she was there when I gave birth to my son. She uprooted her home so that my son and I could have a home in the beginning, so she did some great things. Her depression was big factor in our lives, and caused me no end of worry, confusion and anger but I know that she couldn't help some of the stuff she did. There was other stuff she did that, I will never forgive her for but they fail in to comparion with the fact that she is no longer here to talk to, to ask advice of, or just to go shopping with or have a cup of coffee with. Times when my son was sick and I had to go to work she would come and be with him. Times in the hospital when I just needed to get away from it all, she would come and sit with my son, those are things I am gonna miss most about her. I hope you found the peace you needed Mum. I love you and thankyou.
