Daniel O'Donnell
Emily was a huge fan of Daniel O'Donnell. She loved going to his concerts regularly over the years with her granddaughters Tracy and Karen. Emily was fortunate to meet Daniel on a number of occasions after his shows.
She was a member of The Daniel O'Donnell Fan Club and enjoyed reading the quarterly update newletters. Emily collected a lot of Daniel O'Donnell memorabilia over the years including numerous dvds, a rare autograph, clothes, salt & pepper pots, etc. She was buried with her favourite maroon coloured Daniel O'Donnell jumper and a cushion with her favourite photo of her and Daniel printed on the front.

Funeral Poem

Each obstacle you faced, you fought and made it through,
Our sweet Emily, so strong and tough.
Then the fight grew too hard, and God decided,
Emily you have suffered enough.
He came for you early that morn,
And took your hand in his.
He whispered, “the fight is over my child.”
And your forehead He lightly kissed.
You left behind your loved ones,
Heart-broken and in pain.
But although you’re no longer here on Earth,
Your life will not be in vain.
We will not cry for what we’ve lost,
We’ll smile for all we had.
We will not pray for your return,
We’ll know you’re suffering no more and be glad.
