About

Thereso "Esso" S. Limpin

Thereso was born on October 15, 1965 in Baguio City, Philippines; the first born of Teresita Santamaria and late Lambert Limpin.  He was named after St. Therese, the Little Flower, whose feast day is October 15th.  He was lovingly called "pretty" by his parents and family members because as a baby he was cute.

He attended the Baguio Chinese Patriotic School from kindergarten through high school.  His teachers remembered him as having a lot of humor, perceptive and loving.  He immigrated to the United States after graduating from high school and immediately enrolled at City College of San Francisco upon his arrival.

For the past 17 years, he was affiliated with the SIMCO Group.  He started as a server and became manager of Pier Market at Pier 39.  He was a hard worker.  He had respect for everyone and was well liked by his peers and colleagues.

Thereso enjoyed surfing with a passion!  He traveled to Costa Rica, Hawaii, and Japan to seek the big waves.  He loved music, played the guitar with his brother, and loved to sing.  He also loved children.  He loved life!

His friends say "He had a very pleasant personality and did not have a mean bone in his body."  He had a multitude of friends who respected and loved him.

Thereso will be extremely missed by his family members and friends.  He is survived by his daughter, Angelica Adams Limpin, his mother, Teresita Santamaria, and brother, Troy Limpin.

Memories

Hello family ...

Uncle Rod Aug 20, 2008

I am still in Daly City. I am staying in m.Terry's house since Friday morning. The funeral service was Monday morning, yesterday. Many of Esso's friends and relatives shared their memories of Esso.
It was touching ... really heartfelt testimonies. I shared some of my own as well. I am keeping in my memory all of the impressions that I heard; I shall share them with you soon. This way you will have a glimpse of who Esso was to people he touched during his brief journey on earth. Friends who surf the waves with him for the past 20 years ... fellow workers who worked with him for the past 20 years ... drinking buddies who hangout with him ... cousins .. consoling each other ... it was a heavy feeling... I will tell you more .. God willing I should be back home to Calgary after the
"pa -siyam" on Thursday . God bless you all and let us find comfort with each other who love Esso....but most of all let us find comfort in the peace of God. Esso is with God even when he was on Earth ... He found God in the abundance of God's creation ... the gentle waves of the mighty sea!
Peace man ..... uncle/lolo rodl

Sargeant ! Sargeant!

Auntie Guia Aug 14, 2008

Everyone was watching TV. All the little ones were on the floor almost onlya foot from that screen. The phone rang. Esso who was barely five then answered the phone. Then started shouting, "Sargeant! Sargeant!" Then came with that pretty boy's smile, "Ay! Auntie Sabet pala." Nobody knew how the program on the TV ended because everyone was laughing, and rolling on the floor. Esso talaga.

RESPONSABLENG LABANDERO from Tet-tet

I can never forget how at a very young age Esso took care of Troy and Uncle Lambert. We would still be sleeping in our beds in the wee hours of the morning Esso would be downstairs in the hollow blocks washing clothes, and up on the roof of the garage even before the sun was up, to beat Auntie Sabet, who of course only falls off the roof .... to make sampay and get the best spots for their clothes dry. Then off he goes to the gym to play basketball. when he comes back he chases me around with sweaty kili-kili forcing my arm up to wipe it ... eeewww dugyot!!! Esso, you will always be in our hearts.

A prayer from Pia

We praise you Father that you have shared Esso's life with us. Thank you that he is now at peace with You. We pray for Troy, Angle, and Auntie Terry. May they find strength and hope in you in this time of sorrow. We pray for the whole Limpin clan. Bind us in Your love and hold us in Your hands. We pray for the originals, Ujong, Oca, Rod, Ligaya, Guia, Liege, Sabet, Bobot, and their spouses, Weny, Tenny, VIcky, Cris, Carl, Matt, Ramon, Caloy. May they all live of good health and abundance as they continue to put You first and lead their lives according to Your will. We pray for the cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Cover us with the blood of Jesus and protect us from disease and harm. Please guide us each day that whatever we do would be pleasing to Your eyes. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
