I'll Shake Your Hand Again


My brother wept as he shared the word
The most tragic news I'd ever heard
I threw up my hand and cried
My dear God no

As I felt the joy drain from my face
And great tears of sorrow took it's place
The winds of rage inside began to blow

A great tempest full of bitter hate
Brewed trying hard to penetrate
The very fiber of my mortal soul

And I questioned God as to the why
A greater man than the worm am I
Should be struck down
With such an act as this?

Why make a widow of his wife?
And his children have to live their life
Without his Love and praise
And bedtime kiss?



I went on.....

Your book it tells me All good things will come
Well right now that sounds Extremely dumb
And in the midst Of my blame
I heard from deep within

Be strong-Hold fast-Be still
I'll Shake Your Hand Again

So I shut my mouth and wiped my eyes
I soon began to realize there was more
To this message yet to come

One fine day Gabriel shall blow that horn
The doors of Heaven swing open wide
With great joy that day we all ascend
To greet and shake his hand again

That the loved ones who where left behind
Would be used to let our Savior shine
Through them to honor Pastor
Our dear friend

Pastor Fred will stay in my heart and memory forever. I know that he is in a place called heaven.
