About

"The Bell Cow"

Whenever I would leave the house or just saying goodbye after talking to PaPa on the telephone, he would always end the conversation with "if you can't be the bellcow, be in the game". And I would always say  "ok PaPa, love you and talk to you later". Really, consciously, I never thought about the phase because PaPa had so many great life experiencing quotes he had acquired our his 97 years of life. To be quite honest, I did not know what a bellcow was, until, several years ago I was on a farm field trip with my grand daughter (yes, grand daugher) and the farmer was referencing the bell cow (with the bell around her neck), and that she was the head cow leading the other. After all those years, I got it PaPa, you were saying if you can't be the head or the boss, be on the winning team. Thank you PaPa for so many great quotes, but the bellcow is a life teaching quote that your future generations will hear. Thanks again PaPa because I guess subconsciously your children understood, because we  have spent a lifetime either being the bellcow or being on a winning team in life!  You have left so many great memories!!

Sorry for your loss

Kimistry Aug 23, 2008

May it bring comfort that everyday your father is with you whether it be that you hear a knock or you feel like someone is standing next to you or the phone rings and no one is there think of it as your father telling you he is okay. God bless

My Papa

To the best father a girl could ever have; to the best father and friend a woman could ever have. I love you Papa and miss you so very much. I know you wanted to go, but I wanted you to stay.
