Memories

Callin me Ma

Rita Aug 12, 2009

Everyday I think of Hoot, there is not a day that goes by he is not on my mind. We shared so many memories that are precious to me. Everytime I hear my grandbaby Carson calling his Ma (that's his momma) I think of Hoot. It is so funny because that is what Hoot called me. Especially if I was wanting him to do something or was getting on to him. I Love You HOOT!!! You have my heart with you in Heaven.....

Heath's Snakeskin Boots

Amber Oglesbee Apr 23, 2009

One Sunday Heath decided to wear snakeskin boots to church, and he kinda pulled them off. :-) I finished eating and sat by Heath on the couch. He would sit with his legs crossed and one foot resting on his knee. He would sneak his boot over on me and make it look like his boot was hissing and strking at me. He kept doing it over and over and would turn his head as if he wasn't doing anything. He was so funny and was always doing something like that. Thank you for always making me laugh. I love you so much, and I am thankful for all of the great memories I have with you.

Rita (Apr 23, 2009)

This was so funny. We have laughed about that Sunday alot. Heath was sitting by Heather in church (which most of the time they could not sit by each other, ha ha, ) he would cross his legs and act like the boots were hissing at her. She would get tickled, I would get on to them, but usually get tickled myself. When we got to his Mamaw's and PawBills he begged us to let him go home and change shoes but we wouldn't let him. Those boots were old, oh my gosh I don't know how old, but they were old. They were his Daddy's and what possessed him to wear them that Sunday to church I don't know. Just another great memory Hoot has left us with...

Muddy Water

Rita Apr 22, 2009

This photo has a funny memory, I guess you could say for Heather and Amber. They had all been riding the mule and four wheeler. Hoot thought he had lost his wallet in the field. Well, Heather and Amber tell him it fell in a big mud hole in the field. So Hoot takes off to the mud hole, diving in, going under, coming up for air, going under again. After all that they have his wallet, they seen it when he lost it , so they picked it up. When he came around the house, muddy and soaking wet, they were rolling, laughing so hard. And you can tell by the sweet smile on Hoots face, he thought it was funny too. Good times will never be forgotten. Amber this memory is for you. I have heard you talk about it several times since the accident. Amber, Auntie loves you and Hoot, Momma loves you...

Great Nephew and Friend!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ferrel Apr 07, 2009

I had a lot of fun times with Heath, I guess I got lucky when we were racking Motocross and got to spend a lot of time with him at the shop, servicing and washing Motorcycles watching him and Tyler on our track practicing and going to races. Mostly watching them race and practice (they usually watched me, Rusty and Daddy washing and servicing) But one thing for sure they were good at getting them muddy! One race that I will never forget, we were at Fernwood and Heath would not jump the finish line jump (a pretty big jump) we kept on and finally he did. You should of seen it, he over jumped it by a mile and came down on the back wheel. Heath looked like a dish rag flopping in the wind hanging off the back of that Motorcycle. We knew he was fixing to bust it but finally he got it under control. In the next race Heath and another rider made a jump together and their handlebars hit in the air, one heck of a mess. When I got to Heath he was spitting dirt and trying to catch his breath. Him and his bike was in pretty bad shape. Heath did not want to race no more that day but we kept on and he finally decided to race the next race.
Another time we were at Rock Hill and Heath was having a good day he was pretty darn fast. He was out running the other riders by a mile This boy came up to Heath and asked if Heath would let him win the nest race because his family was there. There were several times Heath could have passed him instead he wouldn’t. We knew Heath was letting the boy win. I think Heath got more enjoyment out of seeing him win than Heath winning himself. That’s the kind of friend Heath was. One thing for sure Heath was not a quitter and friends and family always came first.
