One killed in fatal car crash

TAMARAC, Fla. (WSVN) -- A driver has died following a head-on collision between his car and a pickup truck.

According to police, the victim had been driving three passengers in his blue Dodge Neon when he crashed with a gray Dodge pickup with on occupant. The driver in the blue Neon died on the scene.

The accident occurred on West Commercial Boulevard near 50th Avenue in Tamarac. Tamarac Fire Rescue transported all four passengers to Broward General Medical Center in stable condition.

Broward Sheriff's Office deputies lingered on the scene to investigate the crash. Cars had to avoid Commercial Boulevard and 50th Avenue west of the Turnpike for some time, as crews had to close eastbound lanes during the investigation.

My deepest condolences to the family and friends of Jannel Thompson, I personally knew Jannel, and she was both beautiful on the inside and out, she will be forever missed. We did a tribute for Jannel on 99 jamz last Saturday and I would like to send a personal thanks to everyone who called in to express their feelings for Jannel. Friday, August 24th, the viewing will be held at (T M. Ralph Funeral Home in the Sawgrass Weston Location at 371 NW 136th Avenue in Sunrise, Fl 33325. Flowers can be delivered there. The viewing will be from 5pm to 9pm call (954) 587-6888.
Saturday, funeral services and the ceremony will be held at 10am at the Oasis church (formerly called Church of Pembroke Pines at 12201 SW 14th Street in Pembroke Pines 33025. (954)433-4838.
