About

Jayci

10-year-old girl has died, just a day after her wish to see her father was granted.

Jayci Yaeger's imprisoned father, Jason, went to her bedside Wednesday -- a visit federal authorities allowed only after being deluged with letters and phone calls from across the nation.

Jayci had terminal brain cancer. Her family had been pleading with federal prison officials in Yankton, S.D., to allow her father to see his daughter before she died.

On Wednesday afternoon, prison guards drove Jason Yaeger to a Lincoln hospice, where he spent less than an hour at her bedside. No one else was allowed in the room except Jason Yaeger, Jayci and the escorts. Sources said Yaeger did leave the girl's side to consult with hospice counselors and get some direction on how to speak with the girl about what she was going through.

Little angel

Monica Jan 13, 2012

I´m glad you got to see your Daddy one last time.
I just heard your story today, and my thoughts go to you and your family.

Sleep tight, little angel.

Rest in peace, Jayci. I have hope you have many beautiful souls like my parents surrounding you. I pray your mommy and daddy and the rest of your loving family are able to continue on feeling hope, love, and amazement in this world. It's been 3 years, and your story is still reaching people. You did not die in vain.

I just learned about Jayci and all of her and her family's struggles today. I send all of the best wishes and condolences possible. No parent to ever lose a child and no child should ever have to fight cancer. You are brave and amazing Jayci and you have given me many things to be grateful for in my life. Thank you and I hope that you watch over your family and keep them safe and you sit with God, holding His hand and watching over the world. Rest in Peace sweet Butterfly.

i dont understand why any one has to suffer, or why we as motheres every once in a while will have to go threw losing a child. our children should be laying us to rest , not us laying them! i am very sorry for your loss and while heavens doors have open up to recieve such a beautiful little angel ....i pray that her life will still live on for someone to be touched as i was to ,,,this is why i believe in prayer God bless you the parents and all you have been through and her family may God bless another life with her as a guardian angel by there side ......
