Memories

Always Laughing

sharonbedwell Jul 05, 2009

I recently heard about the sad passing of Jill. I first met her 27 years ago, when I was just 16. I was very good friends with her son Adam, and Jill and Alan were very kind and supportive in letting me stay in their home when I needed to. I continued to be friends with the family for a further few years, especially as I lived in Abbots Langley until 2000, and would see Jill and Alan around in the village. Jill was a lovely, kind lady, and even though it was so long ago, I remember her always laughing (and often shouting at Adam)!! It came as a complete shock to hear such terrible news. My thoughts are with Alan, and of course to Adam. With love to you all x

Smiling and Lovely

I met Jill four years ago when I started to run the All Saints Mother and Toddler Group with several other mothers and Jill had volunteered to help us by coming in on a Wednesday morning and making the tea and washing up afterwards (I really don't know how she found the time when I learned the amount of other things she was involved with) She was always happy and smiling - she had time to listen and chat and tell me all about her lovely family and what they were all getting up to. She adored seeing all the children at toddlers and watching them grow. We all miss her so much.
A beautiful service today.

We won't let you down, Jill

Steve & I first met Jill 5 years ago when we were invited to the KLP summer garden party, held in Jill and Alan's delightful garden. Jill talked both of us into joing the Players and who could say 'no' to Jill? Jill encouraged me to join the wardrobe team and taught me all I know about costumes, as I certainly was a pure novice. I am so grateful to her and we will, between us all, keep the KLP wardrobe up and running, just as Jill would have wanted.
