Tragedy

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio (AP) -- An Ohio University-Chillicothe basketball player died after collapsing during practice.

Jonathan Davis, 20, a sophomore from Hampton, Va., fell to the floor Monday evening and was taken to Adena Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, school spokesman Jack Jeffery said.

The school was not aware that Davis had any health problems, he said. A message was left with the county coroner.

The school suspended men's and women's sports events and practices. Grief counselors were made available for teammates and classmates.

The school is about 45 miles south of Columbus and is a branch of Ohio University's main campus in Athens.

Memorial arrangements are pending.

**My Punkin***

Autumn Hoylman Sep 11, 2011

I dated Jon for about 7 months in 2007. He was my first love. I got the call from my cousin Allie, who was dating one of his friends "Keith Butcher", telling me that Jon passed. I lost it!!! But it has now been over 3 years, and all I think about still is how much he really meant to me, and how i never got to tell him how much i truely loved him. But i know it was his time to go, and play on the best basketball court ever!! And play drums in the best band ever, and be with the Lord. But i still think about him alot, and i still miss him! He was my punkin, and he always will be!!!!! R.I.P Jon. Kenzie loves and misses her Uncle Jon Jon!
