Kamilah

Among the messages written by friends were: ‘You were a true angel and now you will be safe in God’s arms’ and ‘One day we will meet and play together again, just like it was in school’.

One pupil wrote: ‘Stop gun crime, people are dying’.

A statement released by Kamilah’s family following her death read: ‘Kamilah, our princess, a natural-born entertainer.

"You had great aspirations in the field of dance, music, sport and medicine.

"You excelled in everything you attempted and achieved.

"You had the ability to bring the sunshine into a room when you smiled. With our love and promises we will keep you deep in our hearts forever.

"You were an inspiration to us all. Rest in peace princess."

Dozens of messages have also been posted on a website set up in Kamilah’s memory. Tributes have been left by people from as far afield as Blackpool and London.

The main quote next to a picture of Kamilah on the internet page says: "Sometimes it takes a tragic event like this to re-focus our minds on the dangers of guns, or even knives, in our communities."

Many of her friends and relations have left messages on the website, including school friends. One wrote: "RIP Kamilah. You didn’t deserve to go like that. It’s so sad. You’re truly missed by everyone. Sleep tight. x"
