Girl Dies Tragically

Kelsea died due to an accidental overdose of methadone pills.

According to testimony at a preliminary hearing earlier this year, Wion admitted to investigators that she gave Phelps a bottle of methadone and penicillin pills for a sore throat when the girl visited her daughter on Aug. 21, 2006.

Wion, a mother of three from Santee, broke into tears when told the girl died of a methadone overdose hours later, Department of Justice Special Agent Jeanie Franco-Quick testified.

Defense attorney Michael Malowney told a judge that Kelsea''s death was an accident, saying there was no evidence Wion knew it was dangerous to give the victim methadone since Wion took it regularly with a doctor''s prescription.

i remember how you used to scrunch your nose and close your eyes when you were trying to be cute or trying to make fun of me....i remember how much you hated cotton balls and i would just scrunch them and you would get chills and scream, i remember you and your brother ending up in the same room every morning even though you finally had your own rooms.....i remember the day you went to Heaven....the worst day of my life, still.

My 16th Birthday

Kels, It's been over 4 years now since you've passed, and I was just told the news...by my mom.... So I just thought I'd pass along a reminder of a memory. We had lots that we shared, but I will never forget the time, I was grounded for my 16th birthday, and my mom, Nadine let me stay the night at your house and your house only and then the next day we went shopping. You were the only one to hang out with me on my 16th birthday, and I love you for that. I love you for the big heart that you had and have and those gorgeous freckles I was always oh so Jealous of. I'm in Virginia now...but I come to CA ever so often, next time I go I will be sure to find your mom and brother and say hello and give them a big hug! I love you sweetheart!!

I have known you since we were 5 years old and have countless memories with you: Including our favorite thing to do when we were 8: Gymnastics on the bars. I miss you everyday and everyday I pray that your Mom and Brother find peace, as well as everyone of us who loved you. Unfortunately, we won't and it won't get easier, but we will find comfort in the memories. We all miss you Kels and may you bring a little sunshine to the Lord in heaven.
