My Memory Your Navy exploits

luciwins Jul 11, 2008

My son in law Jim Heath was a customer for years and when he would visit me in Colorado always spoke of you. Updateing me on your Health, Stories, and Geneology.
I never knew you personally but thru Jim and the Military service you and I shared in nuclear testing in Marshall Islands in Operation Crossroads and Ivy and also In our mutual LDS membership and Utah origins. Since my illness diagnosed 4 years ago, I know Jim and you discussed me and the possible connection to atomic fallout etc.
Jim had just visited me in June and told me you had gotten sick and believed to have acquired a staph infection in the hospital. He said when he left LA you were not doing well. I had you in my prayers since that day to overcome this scourge and now my good Brother and Honorable fellow Vet I salute you in absentia. You had 80 good years and God had better plans for your future.
I will offer my future prayers asking comfort on all your friends and family who grieve as they think back on all the wonderful memories of a man who lived a long memorable life sharing self and substance with all you could as you selflessly travelled this earth.
I look forward to meeting you on the other side but forgive me for saying, I'm trying not to hurry.
Your Brother in Arms and Gospel
