From the many accounts written here, Lauren, it appears you were indeed loved, and remembered. And for that I'm sure you're spirit lives on... See you in the next life. Peace.

Hey sweet girl,
It's still so hard to believe you're gone. Every time I get together with the girls I half expect for you to show up any minute. I miss you so much Lauren, you were an amazing person and the world seems a little colder without you here. I have a crazy tanline from wearing the wristbands we made for you on my ankle along with another hemp anklet with a little peace sign on it that Christina, Beth, Lauren V., and I made when we were home for your funeral. I look down at this little shrine I have to you on my ankle everyday and think about you. I hope you can feel me sending lots of love up to you from down here.

Lauren loved to make goofy faces and after she ate she would get so hyper and would do this silly little dance. She was everyone's friend and loved life with such a passion. She wanted to be a photographer and a fashion merchandizer. She was going to live in Miami, FL... she loved the heat, the sun, the ocean and most of all she loved trees. Last time I was in Auburn during parent's weekend, she showed me her favorite tree on campus. Her nickname was Lollypop because she was so sweet. I miss her every second of my life and will never understand how somthing so horrible could ever happen to my baby girl.
Lolly, I love you with all my heart. Your momma...
everytime i see something about her i get chills and a sense that i knew her even thought i didn't. i can tell that she had a huge impact on the people she knew and i am so terribly sorry for the loss you have all had to deal with. this beautiful woman was taken much too soon and now we'll never know what she could have accomplished in this world. RIP Lauren Burk<3
MY 18YR OLD SON WAS SHOT AND KILLED,SO I KNOW HOW IT FEELS..MY HEART GOES OUT TO ALL HER FAMILY...ALL I CAN SAY IS TRY AND REMEMBER SOMETHING FUNNY SHE DID AND SMILE EVEN IF ITS JUST ONCE A DAY....
My daughter knew Lauren well, and said of her that EVERY GIRL at Walton High School considered Lauren one of her best friends. I've never heard anyone described so warmly. The world is a colder, sadder place today.
