Lauren, even though we did not talk much in high school, you always had a smile and a kind word to share with me. You went out of your way to say hello to me in the hall, and you brought joy to those around you. I will always cherish the friendship we had in middle school. Even you being at my 12th birthday made my life that much brighter. It was an honor to know you, and my thoughts and prayers go out to the Burk family.
My heart is heavy, my mind cannot understand the world today. Another family has lost their Baby. The fear of evey parent we know has come true for these parents and I cannot imagine how they will ever get up in the morning, have a cup of coffee, read the paper, have dinner or go to a movie or family bbq ever again. Life will never be the same EVER again and I cry for them. What I do know is, they have their own Angel in heaven waiting to see them someday.......
Has anyone thought about contacting a psychic? There is one in Mobile, AL, her name is Carol Pate. She has solved many, many crimes with her abilities. This is the 2nd girl to have this happen to her in this area. I am personally sick of things like this, and I am sure this is a feeling we all share. Lauren's tragic loss of life should NOT go unpunished. God be with you all during this time. And GOD HELP the animal who can do this to a young, innocent girl.
RIP Lauren. I did not personally know you, but i feel like i do. This is a true tragedy. My heart goes out to your family and friends. Keep watch over us.
My thoughts and prayers are with the Burk family in this difficult and horrible time. The horrible person who did this will be brought to justice and we all need to take this as a lesson that we are not guaranteed tomorrow... such a hard thing to realize. Lauren was a bright light to her family and now she can watch over them eternally. So many people care and love for y'all Burk family. Know that Lauren will never be forgotten and you will heal and do with your lives what Lauren would have wanted.

Who would have to know this young girl to be affected by her senseless, tragic death. I was sickened to hear about this, I was in the same area at the time of her death and I never saw anything out of the ordinary. I just shows you, evil lurks on every corner, where we least expect it. I pray that God will be the guiding strength for her family, friends and sorority sisters through it all.
I didn't know Lauren but I am saddened to hear of this. As a mother, I offer my condolences to her family and parents during this time. I know we don't understand this, but, Lauren is in Gods hands now, and, may you find peace knowing that she is in his Good hands. God bless.

Lauren...
There are a lot of memories to share here... But I guess the things that stand out the most were art class with you, sneaking into the boys bathroom on the last day of school and taking pictures, going to six flags, and meeting up with you at waterford. there is not a single bad thing that can be said about you lauren. rest in peace, and we will all miss you until we see you in heaven.
I, like many others, did not know lauren but her story has deeply sadden me. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family and many friends. May she rest in peace and one day be reunited with us all again.
From a Delta Gamma sister at Gamma Zeta(LSU): My God be with your family and friends. Our hearts and prayers go out to them, our Delta Gamma sisters and the Auburn community
