Lauren Capper Tribute

According to the Missouri Highway Patrol Lauren was killed in a late night wreck on Highway 67. The crash happened at the intersection of US-67 at MO-158 6 miles south of Poplar Bluff.

The patrol's crash report states 17-year-old Lauren Capper of Poplar Bluff was driving a 2003 Pontiac car when she pulled off of 158 into the path of a 2005 Freightliner truck heading south on 67.

Capper was hit by the truck on the passenger side of her car, causing both vehicles to end up off the road.

The driver of the Freightliner, 56-year-old Donald Nutt of Paragould, received moderate injuries. Nutt was taken to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Both Capper and Nutt were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
