About
About Laurette
Laurette was a Mom of 3 children; Holly, Cameron and Layne. She loved her kids more than anything else. She was born in the suburbs of Detroit, Michigan and lived there, Ohio, Florida and North Carolina. She settled in NC during her teenage years and remained there until she passed away. She always wanted to come back to Ohio, and unfortunately, she never got to go back home. She was employed by the U.S. Postal Service as a rural mail carrier.
We grew closer after the death of our Mom. Even though we had our share of disagreements, we always knew we loved each other. We loved seeing who could find one of our favorite foods from our childhood or something new. When one of us discovered a "new find" we had to call the other one and give all the details. We saw each other through many good and difficult times. From the births of our children, illnesses and death in the family, to personal problems, we were always there for each other. She was my maid of honor at my wedding. I was there at the birth of her 3rd child and she was at the birth of my 4th child. We were pregnant at the same time in 1996 with our babies being born exactly 3 weeks apart. We always knew when the phone was going to ring and that it would be the other one calling. We could pick up the phone to call each other, only to find that the other one was on the line already because she had just called and it hadn't rang at the house yet. We would both say the same thing at the same time. Our entire childhood we had to share a bedroom. I would get so mad at her because her side was always a mess and I had to clean it all the time. Once we were grown, her house was always spotless and mine is always a mess! I will always miss her.....

"IF TOMORROW STARTS WITHOUT ME"
If tomorrow starts without me, and I’m not there to see.
If the sun should rise and find your eyes all filled with tears.
I wish so much you wouldn’t cry the way you did today while thinking of the many things we didn’t get to say.
I know how much you love me, as much as I love you, and each time that you think of me, I know you’ll miss me too.
But when tomorrow starts without me, please try to understand, that an angel came and called my name and took me by the hand.
She said my place was ready, in heaven far above, and that I’d have to leave behind all those I dearly love.
But when I walked through Heaven’s gates, I felt so much at home.
When God looked down and smiled at me from his great golden throne, He said, "This is eternity, and all I’ve promised you."
Today your life on earth is past, but here life starts anew.
I promise no tomorrow, but today will always last, and since each day’s the same way there’s no longing for the past.
So won’t you come and take my hand and share my life with me?
So when tomorrow starts without me, don’t think we’re far apart, for every time you think of me, I’m right here.......
......in your heart.
