About

Poem Written By Anita Walsh

Don't be sad, i've not gone far, look up to the sky, I'm the brightest star. I'm the one shining bright, I'm the one shining strong, I'll be watching over you all night long.

Remember all the things we've said and done, All the laughter, tears and fun. Hold them close and lock them in your heart, with these precious memories we'll never be apart.

In each smiling face you see everyday, Remember I am looking out for you - I am not far away. Whisper my name and tell me your plans, I'll stay right beside you - I'll be holding your hands.

When times get too hard and you feel you can't cope, just call out my name, I'll give you my strength and hope. Tell me your fears and tell me what's wrong, I'll show you what to do and where you belong.

Please don;t be sad and think; 'what might have been?' Except what has happened and what you have seen:

A smiling face with a soothing voice, A beautiful person who had no choice; but to go up to heaven when I was sent for, To love and protect you forever more.

When you get lonely, sad or down, remember I am here and I am all around. look for anything pure, rare or unique, You'll find me there and the comfort you seek.

Please pray for me and talk to me, I promise I am here and will always be. I'll give you the courage to face each day, Just remember the happy times that came our way.

I am sorry that I couldn't stay for very long, I had to go back to where I belong. I am your guardian Angel looking down from above, I'll be here for you always giving you all my love.

My little sister , you were older than me but younger than Joyce, all our holidays as children i am sure i gave you a hard time as boy's do , you were so sweet Lindy -Lou as i called you. I use to stay with you when you lived in Baley road & John worked nights at the news papers to get extra money , you being afraid to stay on your own at night,
The time you were due on Ian ,I rode around to be with you this big event John ,Mum & Dad, I just arrived you was about to phone the hospital then insisted i rang for a chinese at Lee's kitchen first ,because you said you would be ages yet , when i got back you had left & gone to hospital to have Ian, my sister a mum for the first so exciting me an uncle .

From When I Was Little

anitafigg Sep 06, 2008

As i grew up and then moved to Ireland I lost contact with Linda but i do have a lot of happy memories of the times i spent with Linda when I was younger. I remeber being down the caravan with Linda, Ian, Darren, My Mum, Rich, Joyce, Julie and Glen - We had just got fresh strawberries from one of the fields near by, someone was selling them. We were back in the Caravan and Linda gave me a big bowl of strawberries with squirty cream and even thou my mum said i couldn't have much sugar on the strawberries, Linda let me have lots - she sneaked it on when mum wasn't looking. When linda came around to my house when i was little for christmas she was always fun and jolly and played lots of games with us. She was always the heart of the party.

I also remember Linda's laugh really clearly, it was very infectious and made me laugh.
When i was younger i remember that i always loved going to Linda's house, I know this sounds strange, but i loved the way her house smelt, it always smelt comforting and safe and i was always happy there.

My Dad and Nan have always told me that i was like Linda. Mainly when i done or said something silly that made them laugh or the facial expressions i pulled. They have said that alot of our characterists were the same.

Sharing

Linda popping into the kitchen on a lunch break, making us both a cup of tea then sitting, chatting, catching up on our week, sharing thoughts and feelings. I do and will miss this i think ,for a very long time as sometimes you share things with people that you will never share with anyone else. I will hold these memories in my heart.
