Dan passed away from a staph infection; he had pneumonia and didnt realize he had a staph infection that got in his blood. By the time he got to hospital, it was too late.
"His family and friends are in shock.
"[Daniel was] certainly one of the greatest singers I ever worked with. He told me when I was teaching him guitar pre-BONHAM he was going to be famous and tour the world and within two years of singing, he was doing a world tour opening for THE CULT.
"No words can explain his talent and personality. Truly an amazing person.
"Love you, Dan."
According to sources, MacMaster was in the hospital less than 24 hours before he passed away on Sunday, March 16. He was 39 years old.
Unsigned Connecticut-based hard rock solo artist Jimmy D, who collaborated with Daniel on the EMERALD MONKEY project, has issued the following statement regarding MacMaster's passing:
"Daniel and I started working together in early 2005. We found a writing chemistry and friendship like no other… in the world we loved called music. Now at this moment, it's hard to believe he is gone. We spoke weekly, holidays, birthdays… always, and I will miss the short time we had together. The writing, the jokes, and the stories. In my eyes he was an extremely talented musician. He taught me so much that I was lacking as a songwriter, and now there will be a void. Knowing now that our plans for releasing music performing together this year will never come to pass, saddens me beyond belief. He and I had our heart set on getting MONKEY-MACMASTER and his solo effort 'out to the masses,' as he put it.
"My heart and prayers go out for his family through this difficult time.
"I will miss you brotha. Forever your dear friend, Jimmy D."

Great Underrated Rock Vocalist
Michael Fabiano Sep 21, 2009
I was a big fan of Bonham, and especially their second album Mad Hatter in 1992, which seem to slip right past everyone, into the clearance rack, and gone forever. No radio airplay, only one music video played just a few times on MTV and I never saw or heard from them again, until Jason's new band a few years later with a different singer. There were so many dynamic arrangements and performances on Bonham's Mad Hatter album, sometimes I just don't understand why the rest of the world is not entertained by great rock albums like that. The general public seemed to pass Bonham off as just "a Zeppelin rip-off band." But even if Daniel sounded like Plant and of course Jason sounds like his father, they were their own original band. It seems to me to be such a sudden, unexpected and tragic death for a very young performer. I'm sad.

The Loudest Show I ever attended.
FP Oct 09, 2008
It was so loud that we had to stuff toilet paper in our ears.
My wife love s "Wait for You" so just for kicks I did a search and sadly found out that Danny passed. I lost a brother to a similar fate back in '04 so I can relate a little.
Anyways that's all I have so RIP Danny and peace.
Dan Forever
