Memories of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi

Jai Guru Deva

David Heard Mar 27, 2010

I never met you but you came into my life...it must have been destiny. I am so glad and happy now... where before I was lost. You saved my life Maharishi. I trusted you, read your books, attended the First World Peace Conference in Massachusetts, and it all paid off as you said it would. I want to thank you so much for deciding to spread TM throughout the world. As you would have liked to have heard it...Jai Guru Dev!

My Memory and connection with you

Henry Ahlstrom Aug 14, 2009

In my hometown Stockholm, Sweden, I was 14, I was with the crowd waiting for you in the school's auditorium. Then you came down the aisle. I was surprised how short you were. That whole experience of seeing you walking down the aisle and hearing you talk... so easy for me then to know "this is it." I learned TM two months later. In Oslo, Norway, during vacation from MIU, Fairfield, some time in my 20's, I held up a rose, as you received it, you so gently touched my left hand - it was just like a gentle breeze. - My hand is blessed. And then there was the time at MIU. You came to us there. - Thank you..... ... What have I received from all these years of having a connection with you? - Many things. In this moment what strikes my mind is: I've met a person who so completely thinks for himself, i.e., someone whose Self is so alive in his actions and words. That's just one quality. But that one quality I've come to value so deeply in life; to live who we are deep within, in words and actions. It is to actualize,... to become,... to be enlightened. It is to transparently show who we are. This also makes for intimacy, connection with others. The two go hand in hand. Dear Maharishi, I am committed to actualizing, to enlighten. - Thank you for this gift. I do deeply miss you. Your passing away brought me tears and warmth. But foremost, it made me stop and it brought silence! I am 50 now. I'm at such peace with your passing away, and I think this is because you awakened this important value in me to actualize me. And as I do discover and live me, I find you there. Thank you for your eternal company. I hope I can be of good service to our world. You inspire me. - Henry Ahlstrom

Something Special is About to Happen

The Guru's Divine Presence

Chidanand Mar 09, 2008

It was Maharishi's stories about his personal relationship with his Master that spawned a deep longing in my heart to one day serve and be close to a living Master. It was not possible with Maharishi...I mean to get so close...yet I never dreamed that one day I would actually fulfill that desire in my heart. Then one day at Maharishi International University in Iowa...a teacher of TM came to rent a room in our mobile home on campus. He had just returned from India and from meeting Mata Amritananda Mayi Devi or "Amma". Well, in three months I was living at Her ashram in Kerala, India and experiencing what it meant to be "serving at the lotus feet of a living Master". Maharishi used to tell us that in his earlier days with Guru Dev...he would simply "bask in Guru Dev's divine presence". I came to quickly appreciate those words...and am forever grateful that the long held egoism of selfishness is gradually being shed by Her grace. Jai Guru Dev, Maharishi...and Jai Guru Devi...Amma

Some gems from Maharishi

Ellen Levy Feb 26, 2008

I loved your wonderful one-liners. "When a pickpocket looks at a saint, he sees only his pockets--and I have no pockets!"

On the sexes: "One is the mother, the other is the child."

On sex--"Frankly, this has not been my field"

On celibacy: "If a man keeps saving the money and saving the money, he gets wealthy. If he keeps spending and keeps spending, he gets spent."

On childlren: "It is very good for a child to be mischievous. He will grow up very mature."

On child rearing: "It may be necessary to discipline a child, but it is not necessary to be angry on him."

Most important: The moment I first beheld him, any ideas I had about human limitations dissolved. They have never returned.

My Memory

jerry Frechette Feb 23, 2008

Thank you so very much for all that you have done for me and the world.
You are truly one of the very best persons that I have encountered in my life. I cannot fathom what my life would have been if not for your enlightened soul and my starting the TM technique and the TM Sidhi program. I am one of a few of your teachers and I will do everything that I can to perpetuate your memory in the highest form.
Enjoy infinity and please be assured that my love for you extends throughout time.
