Biography
Mary Winifred Sullivan Bourque grew up in Manchester, NH, on Wilson Street. She was the only daughter of Margaret Britton Sullivan and Michael T. Sullivan. She had a brother, Joseph who died as an infant. Her best friend growing up was Mary Jordan. She lived her her extended family, and her beloved uncle, "Johnny" was as a father to her. She attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help grammar school and St. Joseph's High School for girls. She later attended Hesser College.
After college she went to work for Household Finance Company. There she met her husband, Elmer and they married in 1954. They had four daughters. Mary later became a legal secretary and worked for her classmate, Marty Loughlin (Judge). The stories that she told about her days working at his office were always entertaining.
Mary's closest companion was her mother, Margaret, who lived to be ninety-nine years old. Witty, hardworking and fiercely independent, she was a role model for all of her grand-daughters.
Mary always enjoyed the beach. She was a generous mother always concerned and involved with her children's educations.
She has many friends: Joanne, Pat, Mary, Marge, Kay, Dottie and many others. She loved to bowl, entertain, spend time at the beach and with her family. She adored her four grand daughters and two grand sons.
Mary will be missed but never forgotten.
