A. Matt had numerous friends while growing up but his Mom thinks his best friends were Ryan & Jack. I am sure there were others like his boss at Outback Yanus (spelling?) and Paul and of course there were friends from his brother - Chris (Tank), Brad, Ethan, Matt S., Jason S., Phillip B., Phillip J., Shea, Hillary, Jennifer, Jessica T., Chastity - so many others that I have their faces imprinted in my mind but can't remember all the names. You all made an impression on my Matt and you know who you are.

A. Even though his parents are divorced - he had a very loving Dad, Mom, brother, and sister who miss him very much! He had a large extended family - lots of cousins, aunts, uncles, and the usual grandmother's, grandfather's, & great- grandfather.

A. I remember Matt telling me about how he was a kid and was throwing rocks at a car... just fooling around... and forgot about it later... but was reminded when one of his parents... his father maybe... can't remember... woke him up from a sound sleep and disciplined him. I don't know why we both found that story funny

A. I know he always talked about trust and honesty all the time and how it was really important to him. He also loved all his friends and family soooo very much and felt guilty sometimes that he couldn't spend as much time with them as he wanted to

A. I knew Matt believed in God because that was the first thing I asked him after he left for Iraq. We even agreed about calling God the "Big Honcho" and discussed what it really meant to have the fear of God in someone.

A. haha...I remember the day I met Matthew...He came over to where I was sitting and was smiling ear to ear to where it really showed off his dimples...He looked away suddenly..Looked up and sighed and shook his head...He said, "I'm sorry..." I was like...what are you sorry for? He replied, "You know......I....Just...Don't....Know...How to...Talk...You know...to girls..."
I laughed at him and said, "Well, that's just great! Because I'm not a girl, I'm a woman..."
haha then he stumbled over his words and said, "Uh...Um...That's cool..."
I said..."yeah...we are going to have to work on that.." haha
He laughed at me and said it was my fault for making him "zombified"
