Grieving the loss of Matthew

A 19-year-old man is dead after a weekend crash in Schuylkill County.

It happened on Route 25 in Hegins Township just after 5:00 AM Saturday morning. State Police say Matthew Charkaway of Pitman lost control of his pick-up truck and went off the road. The 19-year-old's truck hit a tree and then an embankment.

Charkaway was thrown from the truck and died at the scene in Schuylkill County.

You could always make me smile even if you were just making fun of me. I remember that weekend like it was yesterday. Through the years I knew you, you made such an impact on my life its unbelievable. Not a day goes by that I dont think of you or anything you've done for me. I'm so grateful to have been a part of your life, and I'd do anything to bring you back. Life without you is so different, and I never would have guessed it. After so many months, I still can't believe or understand anything. Keep watching over me. I love you and miss you big brother and you'll always be in my heart.

You were always there. At the snap of a finger, in the blink of an eye.
The big brother I always wished I had.
Hell, we even fought like siblings over the stupidest shit.
I regret not giving you a hug the last night I saw you; I regret not offering to hang out with you that Saturday night when you asked me what I was doing.
See? You did make that big of an impact on atleast one person's life ..
