About

In memoriam Matti Saari

This is a tribute to Matti Juhani Saari.

Matti was only 22 when he decided to leave this world and take other people with him. He was the amok shooter of the Kauhajoki school massacre, having happend in Kauhajoki, Finland on 23rd of September 2008.

Durnig this deed 9 pupils and one teacher got shot before Matti set the gun to his own head. He died of his injuries a few hours later in the hospital.

Please note that I do not defend his deed or any other shootings or school massacres. I am here to share my memories and to take my right to mourn for the man I loved and to maybe thereby prevent that his death is being forgotten and that other young people become desperate enough to redo what he did.

Eric-Pekka Auvinen, the first Finnish school shooter, wrote in his farewell letter to his parents, that he hopes that he can change the world enough by his deed to prevent that it has to be repeated. One year later the world was still the same - and that's when the demons in Matti's head took over the lead.

Please let us remember the past to change and better the future - for that the death of Matti, Eric-Pekka and their victims were not for nothing.

Was he a real person?

Martin Carlsson Aug 19, 2012

Researchers on Cluesforum have suggested that the Kauhajoki school shooting was a NATO-directed PSYOP (psychological warfare) designed to bring gun laws in line with the rest of the EU.

Does anybody here have any evidence that Matti, or the victims, were real people?

The consensus seems to be that it was a very elaborate hoax, something to do with the NATO Partnership for Peace Programme.

Just a hero...

He was a hero, I don't like murderers, but I'm a fan of Wumpscut as he was, I think Matti wasn't a bad boy, we've got lots of things in common, so, Rest In Peace Brother!!!

More Questions

Joe Jul 05, 2010

I don't know Mr. Saari but the news media did not provide sufficient information as why he ended his life that way. I would like somebody who knows him closely provide the rest of us with some informaiton on these questions:

1. Was he taking any prescription medication?
2. Had he ever been diagnosed with some form of depression?
3. Was he hyperactive?
4. How did he arrange for his pet (a cat I suppose) before deciding on a suicide/murder plan?

Thank you in advance for your providing such information.
Joe

Reflection

Carrie Aug 30, 2009

My sympathy goes out to you in your loss, along with the families of the victims. .. including Matti. I was not there for his life, so I do not know if he was bullied. As one who has been all of my life growing up (especially in school), yes, the toll it takes is like no one can know, so that is a great plea. Live and let live..... I do not believe the majority of the people who just open fire on others are pure evil (Though I surely do not condone this behavior). I think they have had either a lot of hurt and pain in life (and/or mental illness), and SNAP...... everyone need remember, judge not least ye be judged. Light and Love to you hon.,
