You are forever in my thoughts, through all the recent troubling times and future challenges that I have to face. Your strength and fortitude will always be a constant force in my life. As a child you and I slept in the same bed and I now cherrish those moments, before your wings were destined to spread. Your wings are forever comforting to those whom you have nurtured, wise and thoughtful beyond your years.
The first time I encountered Mrs Adams I was NOT quite fond of her and thats because I was 8 and didn understand her. It wasn until she taught me in 6th form that I then began to realise the type of teacher and person she was. I also shameful realised that I misjudged her character when I was younger because she never taught me so I didn know her as well as I should or thought I did.
One of the first things I noticed about Mrs Adams was her ability to connect with someone and capture one's attehtion. She was so full life, compassion and drive especially to bring the best in her students. I always looked forward to her classes because she made learnin fun and exciting. I wished all my teachers were like her - devoted, loving, compassionate, hilarious, understanding, brilliant, altuistic etc . . .
When she fell ill, I, like many others, was pretty much sure that she'd pull through up until her illness got serious. When she returned to Nevis after she received her medical treatment overseas, I was quite relieved but dishearten to learn that she had retired and had quite recuperated physically. But she remained in high spirits and keep her usual smile.
I was in denial when I found out that she had passed on to eternity. I just didn want to believe that Nevis had loss another stalward teacher and generations to come wont be as blessed and priviledge to have such remarkable hardworking teacher.
Am proud and I feel lucky to have been 1 out of many of her students and I know many of us truly miss you Mrs Adams but wont forget you.
Mrs Adams..words can never describe you- no justification through words. You were more than a teacher to me. You reached out to your student way beyond the constraints of a classroom, you always found the time to mentor and tutor...You were indeed a borrowed Angel. I only thank the Almighty for allowing me the privilege to have encountered your kind hearted spirit ;your enthusiasm.
Mrs Adams, I curse the day you left us behind but bless the day you went on to Glory. There will Never Ever be another like you; truly. You are Loved and will be missed Greatly. Your legacy will live on through the people you touched.
Mrs Adams, the academic lessons you taught I can hardly rememeber but the kindness you showed I sure do remember. Though the years seemed short you did indeed play your part, even if it was just a smile to light another's heart.
Mrs. Adams was not only a committed and heart warming teacher, but an inspiration to the hearts of all those whose lives she touched. As a dedicated individual and a wonderful being, she has left us all with love, courage and memories that will continue to make us laugh and smile for the rest of our lives. Her humanity reached out too many all across the island of Nevis. If you spent just a few minutes with her, you would quickly become consumed by her knowledge; humour and charity. Such was the passion and presence of Maureen Adams. If you were fortunate to have been taught by her, then you are most certainly aware of the numerous occasions that she would have sacrificed her personal plans for the sake of her students and all those who came into contact with her. Such was the heart of Maureen Adams. If you were even privileged enough to have merely glimpsed her passing by, then you would know she was a woman who conducted herself with enthusiasm and always lit up the room. Such was the style and serenity of Maureen Adams. My hope.....is that we continue to celebrate the legacy of Mrs. Adams for generations to come, by practicing the principles of hard work and sacrifice that she promoted. Our goal must now be to motivate all our young people to adopt the view, that no matter the field of endeavour that they decide to pursue, that they should strive to be a “Maureen Adams”. The young girl in Brown Hill, who dreams of becoming a doctor/nurse, must say to herself at nights “I want to become the Maureen Adams of the Medical Profession!!!” Likewise, the young man in Cotton Ground who has high hopes of becoming a lawyer must aspire to be to the legal profession, what Maureen Adams was to Education in Nevis. Let the name of this warm, wise and wholesome individual forever live on in our schools and our community.....Let her name forever be etched in the history of our Nation’s Development!!! Long Live Maureen Adams!!!.....Your life has truly been a SUCCESS STORY!!!
Mrs. Adams was one of the best teachers I've had. She cared and showed her love in many different ways. As a result, both our classroom and examination grades were outstanding. Your gone but not forgotten, may your soul rest in peace.
As a pass Red House athlete I always looked out Red House. The few times I got to the park early enough to see a few races I recalled seeing Mrs Adams rallying behind the athletes. My heart was warmed to see a teacher with so much passion, so whenever she asked for a contribution for Red House I could never say no.
Mrs Adams truly put others first. I saw her at the hospital about 3 days prior to her passing and before I could greet her she greeted me ' How are you doing?' In my mind I thought, the question should have come from me because she was hardly breathing but concerned about me who was standing. I simply smiled and squeezed her hand and told her to rest. Little had i known that I would not see her smiling face again.
When I think of red I think of the Blood Jesus, the sacrifice he made for us. Mrs Adams was filled with that type of blood, she lived for others and her legacy will live on. Red is not dead!
Mrs. Adams our hearts are broken forever. It is true time heals everything but tears have been falling now for so long now and when we think of your beautiful face it all seems so wrong .You had so much to look forward to and so much left to do but God needed somebody in heaven who is as special as you. Mrs Adams you have touched the lives of soo many of your students in a special way whether you knew it or not. You certainly have touched our lives. On the night you were taken from us, in the sky was a lone twinkling star, perhaps that was you telling us that you had arrived safely.
We will miss your voice, your infectious laugh and your chants "Red is not dead" certainly Huggins house will miss you dearly. We your past students will miss you terribly. Some things we question and just never understand. Until God is ready to explain... sleep on Mrs. Adams, have your rest. We love you forever.

Maureen I dont know how to say goodbye to a smiling face like yours. U know what maybe I shouldnt I'll just say we'll meet someday in the grest beyond.U slipped away so quickly from within our grasp it was like quicksand.Though we often question why when ppl like u leave who would have offered so much and made so much great impacts on our lives I guess its all for the good so that u dont have a chance to mess up and then ppl have to think twice and so all the good is done and then u leave knowing that u were all genuine. thx for being u and I'll miss u dearly. U called me sunshine now ure free to shine. Dont worry about Kofi I'll put him across my lap and give him a spanking each time he gets out of line. Shem Hotep.
My life was sincerely touched by Mrs. Adams, first as my lecturer then from there by our friendship even to the point where I saw her as my 'mommy'. I am certainly grateful that I was blessed with the privilege of having been around her, even though the time was short. I have never seen a woman who cared so much about her students, who was also selfless and had such an almost unheard of passion for educating others. She truly lives on in my memory as a gem who ever so special and is simply irreplaceable. She has really inspired all to always believe in myself regardless of the struggles i faced and for that amongst other things I am eternally grateful. Rest Sweetly In Heavenly Peace.
Our dear Mrs. Maureen Adams it's so hard and sad to say goodbye. You were a very wonderful and warm-hearted person. You were always full of joy, always happy and always willing to help. Words cannot even begin to describe what a wonderful person you have been. We've always enjoyed spending time with you especially that last new years day you spent with us. We ate, we drank and we even took pictures. Your human form may be removed from the earth but the great memories of you will remain in our hearts. According to ecclesiastes chapter 3 verse 1 to everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven. My dear Mrs. Adams you may not have life on earth but its your time to live in heaven. We surely do miss you. Goodbye to you and we love you.
R.I.P Mrs Adams may your soul rest in eternal peace! From being a student or yours I've learnt that you're a very sweet lady, understanding and very motivating!!!
