Maurice Gibb was a singer/song writer and musician best known for his part in the band the Bee Gees formed with his tow brothers Robin and Barry. The band got its start in Australia, but their major success came when they moved back to England where they had lived as children. Their biggest hits came with the soundtrack to the movie Saturday Night Fever, and this linked them forever with the disco era. In 1994 Maurice was ind;ucted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, and in 1997 he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He was married twice, and has two children.
Maurice Gibb died unexpectedly of complications following intestinal surgery.
