Merv Griffin Tribute

I want to to share with Merv's family that my love and thoughts go out to you for your loss of a good man. I have memories of my mother Elain Mary Griffin telling me that she was Merv's first cousin. Her father and Merv's father was brothers. We lived in Seattle Washington and my mother's father's name was John Griffin. I would like to know if I really was related to such a great man.
