Michaella Lopes student was killed instantly in Monday''s early morning crash.

It would have been Michaella Lopes''s 17th birthday. Instead friends and family honored her memory with a candlelight vigil on her high school soccer field, remembering and celebrating her life.

"My sister was an amazing person," Allycia Lopes said. "Always had a smile on her face. Could cheer anybody up. She was never sad."

But Micha''s life, tragically was cut short. One of five people in a car that lost control and landed on it''s roof in Putnam Monday morning. Lopes was killed instantly. 16 year-old Shannon James of Ticonderoga died later from injuries.

Two other passengers and driver, 16 year old Dustin St. Andrews of Putnam were hospitalized. According to the Post Star, cops say St. Andrews tested positive for alcohol use and could face homicide charges.
