Jackson was pronounced dead at 2:26 p.m. at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center not far from his rental mansion in the Holmby Hills. The cause of death wasn't known. An autopsy is set for Friday.

"It's a very sad day for all of us," Jackson's manager, Frank DiLeo, tells PEOPLE. " It's such a terrible shame. He was my friend." As for Jackson's three children – Blanket, 7, Paris, 11, and Prince Michael, 12 – DiLeo says, "The kids are very upset, but they are fine."

The entertainer was stricken Thursday afternoon and a 911 call was placed. "His personal physician, who was with him at the time, attempted to resuscitate Jackson, as did paramedics who transferred him," according to a statement from the hospital.

Michael I was always a big fan since Motown records when I was 5 the Jackson 5 was at the top of the charts, I had a broken leg and danced to all of the top Jackson hits also shattering my casts yes I had to have 3 of them finely the doctor put a rubber bottom on the last one.... now 44 and was shocked to hear of your passing my 3 year old daughter has suddenly become obsessed with your music never hearing it before other than on the radio or seeing Captain EO at Disneyland now she says Michael Jackson is up in heaven or if she watches a video she will get all excited and says " its Michael Daddy look !!" she cant go a day with out saying something I hope this puts a smile on your face knowing even after your passing you can still make a change its too bad people had to take you away from us ... sorry so many hurt you!

ever since i heard this bad news i feel like the end of this world but i personaly belive that if a person dies and he or she have kids then that person is always excess around his or her kids and also i beliebe that good poeples are always alive.
