THE ACCIDENT:
The Wooster Post of State Highway Patrol Sunday investigated what it called a serious injury motor vehicle crash that occured at 4:15pm and involved two teenage girls.
The accident involved a 2000 Yamaha Ultramatic Grizzly 600 4x4 all-terrain vehicle that was traveling southbound on Township Road 513, eight-tenths of a mile south of County Road 1 in Ripley Township, Holmes County.
The crash occured when ATV struck the end of a guardrail on the side of a small bridge over Shreve Creek. The impact ejected both riders from the vehicle and they landed on the pavement just south of the crash site.
Although officers said a safety helmet was found at the scene, it does not appear that either of the riders was wearing it at the time.
Driver of the vehicle was Sabrina Werkmeister, 16, a a foreign exchange student staying with her passanger's family in Shreve. Werkmeister was transported by the Shreve Fire Department Emergency Squad to Wooster Community Hospital where she was treated for scrapes and a possible broken arm and released.
A passanger on the rear of the ATV was Michelle Caine, 14, of 1684 Mechanicsburg Road, Wooster. She was transported by the Shreve Fire Department to Triway High School where the unit met a LifeFlight helicopter that transported her to the MetroHealth Medical Center of Cleveland with severe head and internal injuries. No condition report on Caine was available at press time today.
The crash remains under investigation.
WRITTEN FOR MICKEY:
As the Year has gone by, I've watched the clock
Just wishing and wishing to hear a knock
To open the door to see your face
Then I would know we were all in our place
Over the year, our pain eased a bit
But our candle of love will always be lit
You were one of a kind, with so much to give
And in our hearts, you will always live
I miss you Mickey, and I wish you were here
But the Lord needed you, so we shed a tear
I know you look down on us everyday
So I turn I look up and happily say
I love you Mickey and Im proud of you too
You tackled lifes obstacles and always stayed true
So you carry on, and we'll do the same
Our troubled waters will someday be tame
written by: Uncle Roy
You were my neice, with a smiling face
And forever you'll hold a special place
In my heart and soul, you shall remain
Until the day we all meet again
You were taken to serve high above,
To spread the Lord's joy, and especially love
We will miss you deeply, as the days go by
And none will pass without a sigh
Our pain of losing you runs so deep
And I know our memories we will always keep
Until we meet again my wonderful neice,
Walk with the Lord, and we will all feel at peace.
I love you Mickey

MICKEY
Mickey was a special soul
Whose gifts were far from few,
She had a way to touch the hearts
of everyone she knew.
Her smile was so golden
It could warm a lonely heart,
Her laughter, like the sunrise
is how the day would start.
Her eyes had a special sparkle
Showing love, serenity, and care,
It was her inner most being
A part that would always be there.
She had the kind of spirit
That rode high above the wind,
Free flowing like the river
that didn't have an end.
Our father took her home
To his heaven up above,
Her spirit's still among us
You can feel her precious love.
We'll miss our special Mickey
With a love that will not fade,
She's deep within our hearts
A memory that will be saved.
So hold her precious Jesus
For she's your angel now,
And with God's love and grace
We'll get through this loss somehow.
