About

Beauty Dies

Young actress and idol Miyuki Kanbe suddenly passed away on Wednesday morning at a hospital in Kawasaki. Barely 24 years old, Kanbe died of heart failure after repeated hospitalization since early last year.

Kanbe had been cast as Eponine in a production of "Les Miserables" scheduled for June 2007. However, she had to back out of the role in February due to poor health, and after an initial medical examination, she was frequently in and out of the hospital.

According to her agency, Kanbe seemed healthy when she visited the Shibuya office earlier this month. Unfortunately, her condition worsened at the start of this week and she was re-hospitalized, but her heart ultimately gave out.

One of Kanbe's best known roles was as Usagi Tsukino in the "Bishojo Senshi Sailor Moon" musicals from 2000 to 2001. She was the third actress to play that part. Her other works include "Battle Royale II" and the "Kamen Rider Hibiki" series. Aside from acting, Kanbe was also active in variety shows, commercials, and photobooks.

Weep Not For The Memories

VolunteerFirefighterNYS Oct 30, 2011

Worry not for us anymore Miyuki love. Your work here in this world is over at last, and you have gone home to the Father above. I pray one sweet day in heaven, we shall meet at last. I would have loved to have known you person to person in this life, but such was not to be. If giving my life up would have saved yours, I would have done it. All at once, without a second thought and without anyone needing to ask it of me. I would have sacrificed my life for yours. Compared to an innocent like you, I feel I am expendable. To all who read these words: I encourage everyone to become organ donors, as I have done. Be ready to give life when ours is over. Let us not forget Miyuki-sama, or those who suffer as she had.

TO YOU MIYUKI

I wish all the love and peace where ever you are. Always you will be in our hearts.

Her voice and smile makes me cry..

jenpei Jul 17, 2010

two years ago, i was searching the net when accidentally i visited a site where i first found out her death. I burst into tears because i just can't handle the pain knowing this sweet girl really had gone already. Until now, the pain of losing her is still painful, especially when i hear her laughs and endless smiles.. but she will never be forgotten, for a beautiful person inside and out, she'll always have a special place in our hearts. Godless and I miss you beautiful princess.

Still can't believe it

Shannon Oct 30, 2009

Randomly I think how tragic it is for a 24 year old girl to die. That's not fair. I don't know what to say. You were my favorite of them all and I can't believe you won't get to do all the things in life that you should have. I'm so sorry.
