Thank you Norman for taking my 2 kids Andre' and Monique' out for ice cream at Poinsetta Park in Hollywood. I'll never forget meeting you through my ex-boyfriend, Late Actor Ron O'Neal. You and Ron were very close. Thank you for your kindness to me and Ron then. Now the two of you can play Dominoes together now together in Heaven .... Harvey Fuqua too! You're in the best musical choir right now with the Angels .... Peace and Love Always ... Renee' Wilsonjavascript:void(null)

My Memory

Brenda Nov 24, 2008

I remember Norman as a great song writer, a creative genius, and a warm gentle, caring, comical and loving human being. His smile and laughter was addictive. He had a keen sense of humor. He had a way of making you feel special. I consider myself very fortunate to have known him on a personal level; and I will love him forever. Norman, rest in peace and I know you are in heaven being the music creative genius that you are with your heavenly peers. I will always remember you as a wonderful man first, and a musically talented person second. I will never forget you and I feel honored that you touched my life.

A Respectful Tribute

Jerry Stephani Oct 04, 2008

Norman was the wide-screen of imagination against which artists and performers could look and sound their best. The pure grace of his music is unequalled. It inspired artists and audiences to share in his skillful creations as though it were their natural birthright. Norman, thank you so much for what you have given us. The music will never be forgotten, nor the hand and the pen from which it flowed.

My Memory

Kris Peterson Sep 28, 2008

I am a singer from Detroit. In 1967-68 I was working The Twenty Grand at 14th St. and Warren in Detroit with McKinley Jackson & The Politicians. On one end of the bar was Ted White, Aretha Franklin's husband and at the other end was Norman Whitfield. On every break I would go over and sit with Norman. I was having some personal problems at the time and Norman suggested that I buy a bible. I have the date written in on the day that I bought that bible. It was October 14, 1968. I will always be greatful to Norman for this, for this act brought me into the light. I thought about him through the years and had always hoped that I could see him again to thank him. I hope that he can hear me now. Thank you Norman.

Sincerely,

Kris Peterson

A True Legend

Manuel Spookey Esparza Sep 27, 2008

From Normen's work with Mary Wells "Everybody Needs Love," to producing super bad jams on The Velvelettes. From The Temptations, Edwin Starr, Gladys Knight to his own record label, I have been a fan and supporter of Normen's music, I bought all his records. Rose Royce, Taka Boom, Undisputed Truth, Stargard.
I was able to attend his funeral services held in Los Angeles. It was a great honor for me to be there. Normen Whitfield IS a Legend.
