Osman Ali Ahmed Tribute

Osman Ali Ahmed was the head of United Nations Development Program in Somalia.

On Sunday, 6th July 2008 unknown gunmen shot him dead as he as he was leaving evening prayers in the mosque in Bulohube, in the south of  Mogadishu, the capital of his beloved country. He later died of the injuries in an African Union peacekeepers' hospital. One of Ahmed's companions was also injured in the attack.

His wife, Nasteho Abukar Yusuf, confirmed Ahmed's death.


We can only hope that the murderers will be found and judged guilty, as it is such a terrible thing - to kill someone coming to help in finding the peace.
