Sisters

A devastated mother and grandmother is having to come to grips with tragedy - her two young granddaughters, aged one and three, found frozen to death.


Their father is in hospital recovering from frost-bite and hypothermia but will soon have to answer questions from police as to how two little girls were out in the freezing cold believed to be wearing only t-shirts and shorts.


The girls' grandmother Pearl Pauchay is getting strength from the rest of her family.

It happened on the Yellow Quill first nation, northeast of Saskatoon.

i am still devasted and will always be by this horrendous tragedy. i will never forget the terrible and unfair end these two tiny girls were forced to meet due to irresponsibility. And I was deeply saddened when their uncle drank a beer outside of their funeral. how sadly disrespectful. what does it take for people to learn?
